Founded in 2007, SchuleEins is an independent community school (Gemeinschaftsschule in freier Trägerschaft) serving students from grades 1 through 13. We’ve expanded the idea of integrated care—blending learning and support throughout the day. This approach comes to life in our Soziales Leben (Social Life) program, which connects morning classes with afternoon activities in a meaningful, cohesive way.
For school to truly prepare students for life, it must open up and stay connected to the real world. To strengthen the community, every student is challenged according to their individual abilities.
The digital revolution presents new challenges—and as we move toward personalized learning paths for all students, new teaching and learning methods are emerging. External specialists work closely with trained educators, collaborating across different age groups.
Within this community, students learn to take responsibility for themselves and others. They develop skills to understand conflicts and problems, find partners, and actively work together on solutions and their implementation. Our own subject, Life Worlds (Lebenswelten), supports and challenges students accordingly, offering interdisciplinary and cross-grade learning experiences tailored to each age group.
Our school motto therefore is:
Open the gates – let life come in!
teaching aligned with the official Berlin state curriculum
all standard school-leaving qualifications in Berlin—including the university entrance qualification (comparable to A-levels or the International Baccalaureate)
Inclusive, mixed-ability learning from grade 1 through to graduation (Abitur)
Mandatory foreign languages: English and Spanish
Personalized learning paths through targeted support and enrichment programs, the da Vinci program and lectures, and in-class differentiation to meet individual needs
Project-based learning, including open afternoon workshops, themed project weeks, and subject-related excursions
Full-day care and holiday care, with closure only between Christmas and New Year
- career orientation in various forms
A long-term stay at SchuleEins promises an experience of everyday life for Germans in Berlin.
Our international students will live and shape celebrations and traditions together as part of the school community. It is also important to us that the local traditions and celebrations of our international students are not neglected. We are happy to celebrate these locally with the Berlin students in order to promote effective mutual exchange.
Classes for international students take place partly on the SchuleEins campus and partly at the Rote Schule. The two locations are connected by a direct bus service.
All classes, including afternoon activities, are included in the framework programme for international students.

Our three school buildings are located in the heart of Pankow and are of historical significance. Dealing with the past of the environment in which we live and learn is a recurring theme in projects and lessons.
Each of them have been given a name nickname based on their appearance or their former function:
- Speicher (ancient tobaco storage building): elementary school grades 1 – 4
- Address: Hadlichstraße 44, 13187 Berlin
- Waisenhaus (former jewish orpahange): middle school grades 5 – 8
- Address: Berliner Straße 120/121, 13187 Berlin
- Arche (built in 2001): high school grades 9 – 13
- Address: Hadlichstraße 6, 13187 Berlin
For our international students we offer accomodation in Wilhelmsruh, a quiet suburbian neighborhood not too far from our main campus in Pankow.
Our „Rote Schule“ (Red School) in Wilhelmsruh combines several functions under one roof: it is an extracurricular learning space for our students, a meeting place for the neighbourhood with courses and regular events organised by MGH Pankow, and accommodation for our international students.
On the first and second floors, former classrooms (each approx. 59 square metres) have been converted into accommodation for 6 to 10 people per room. The rooms are separated by gender, and accompanying staff are usually accommodated in single rooms. Each floor has its own toilets. In total, the building can accommodate up to 45 people on both floors.
The Rote Schule offers a pleasant home for our students who are planning a longer stay that includes school attendance. Students have access to a library, a small cinema room, a large garden and open space for outdoor activities.
Meals are served in the cosy café of the Rote Schule. However, it is also possible to prepare your own meals in the communal kitchen.
- Address: Schillerstraße 49, 13187 Berlin
Our „Green Classroom“, a 6,000-square-meter property, former country school named „VillaFrida“ after the mexican painter Frida Kahlo, is idyllically located right on the shores of Wandlitzsee and offers up to 30 beds. Children and young people from our institutions and programs spend memorable days here, escaping the city’s hustle and bustle to reflect and recharge.
For youth groups, we offer themed trips focused on hands-on, experiential learning. Exciting team challenges, water activities, and unforgettable campfire moments make it an ideal spot for companies, clubs, and working groups alike.
